The NoMa Summer Screen

The folks at nomabid.org are conducting a survey to select this year's movie lineup for NoMa Summer Screen. Last year, outdoor movies were shown each Wednesday at 2nd & L Streets, NE. For those of us who remember drive-in theaters in the DMV, this could prove to be a nostalgic experience. Anyone else remember the Hillside Drive-In on Marlboro Pike? The 2014 DC Rock 'n' Roll Marathon

We shot some footage of Saturday's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. Approximately 25,000 runners registered for the event, and 80 percent of those runners were from out of town. Reportedly, a $22.8 million economic impact benefits the DMV. Click below for video and more pics.

DMV Development... Donohoe's H Street NE Project

Last month, we wrote a post about the H Street Storage Facility being told that their status is expected to change in April. An update from them earlier this week revealed that storage customers will be made aware of the plans in a few weeks, so if you know anyone who wants to avoid the mass exit (only two elevators), heads up! Anyways, we took this shot outside of their window today. It shows the progress being made on the Donohoe project directly across the street. According to the Donohoe website, they are working for former Olympic medalist and DMV native's JAIR LYNCH Development Partners.

Hank Aaron's 80th Birthday & National Portrait Gallery Presentation... Parts I & II

Hank Aaron brought a whole lot of Atlanta to DC this weekend to celebrate his 80th birthday. Friday's event also saluted Mr. Aaron's photo presentation at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery.The first part of the weekend can be seen below.

Whole Foods on H Street, NE

A member of our team went to H Street Self Storage at 624 H Street, NE, and asked if they had received word about when, and if, Whole Foods plans to take over the property. According to one of their employees, the storage facility is scheduled to shut down in April. Check out more about Whole Foods' plans.

DMV Connections... Puppy Bowl X

There's more than one bowl game taking place this weekend. Puppy fans are surely looking forward to Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl X, which kicks off Sunday at 3 PM. We're proud to say that one of the DMV's own will be competing in the event.

The Washington Post is reporting that Howard County Police have put the Mall in Columbia on lockdown. Apparently, an active shooter is in the building. More here:

An Update on Frager's

The folks at Frager's Hardware, which burned on June 5, 2013, have persevered by continuing to operate on Capitol Hill. Several temporary locations are offering various services that the original stores offered.
